this would just interest me if we can come up with someone. i know that likelihood is that with every band/singer there are people who love/hate them and we won't be able to agree on anyone who is just liked, but it's worth a shot.

so basically the idea is that you suggest someone who you think might be liked by most people and if anyone disagrees they can post and say they disagree thus we whittle down the possibilities. (tip: don't post someone who you know is either "love them or hate them" because we'll never get anywhere. and you can post more than one.

i'll start then. my suggestion: queen or the kinks. does anyone disagree with those?

No, its a good idea. It's doomed to fail though, there's no-one that absolutely everyone likes (not even Sufjan Stevens! ), but that's no reason not to do it. It's one we've done on UKMHoF before; I think the nearest we got to a consensus was with Neil Young.

The Kinks... yeah, not a huge fan, but I quite like them, and I certainly don't dislike Queen to anywhere near the extent as I know they are loathed, but see they've been discounted anyway.

oh yeah, then it was what i was thinking! but i didn't just suggest them because of mac! i actually did like them before but it helps having something in common...

I do object to Elvis though I know how bad it sounds but I kinda wish he had died younger with some self respect intact
