He may have given you your first introduction to jazz. You may have marvelled at his unbelievably dextrous piano licks. You might have developed a strong love for Boogie Woogie in particular after listening to a few of his albums you borrowed from your uncle. It may even be all of the above.
Or you could have no idea who this man was. If that's the case, I recommend you take this opportunity to search out a few tracks and have a listen. You may discover something you enjoy.
I wasn't really aware of Oscar but I heard a couple of tracks on Motel Moka (google it) after his sad passing this week and really enjoyed them. Sad loss.
