Difficult to choose from.

So many different good singrs, and so many styles.

Personal preference also comes into the equation.

Will say Dusty Springfield from the list, with Amy running very close.

People should check out Laura Marling on myspace too.

Correction: the track is called Mrs Bartolozzi, but a washing machine is heavily featured. Smile

Smile I haven't heard much of her more recent stuff. But i loved 'The Kick Inside'.Think that was the name of the album.I also loved 'This Womans Work'.Didn't they use that recently in a childrens charity commercial?.Such a sad song.

I don't know... To be honest, it's my husband who's a big fan. I just fell in love with Wuthering Heights. Big Grin

I love Amy Winehouse I think she's a great British talent, but she seems to be a flawed genius. Old school I think Kate Bush was and is still amazing.

More on Kate Bush:
I love al her albums in particular "The red shoes" absolutely brilliant! I don't think any of the singers have come close to her enormous talent or beauty.

Smile That would account for her brother called Paddy!.I'm sure he used to produce her records or something like that.Didn't she write 'The Man With The Child In His Eyes' when she was only 14 or 15?.She's up there with Queen,Bowie, etc in my eyes.I can't get into her newer stuff though, hate to say.

Paddy was in her band (he played digeridoo and other instruments), John Carder Bush, her other brother, took the photographs that were used on her album covers. It was rumoured that Kate had written over 200 songs while she was still at school, including most of the tracks that were used on 'The Kick Inside'.
