I Want To Break Free - Queen!

when i was still at school and getting up early to do my paper round for three mornings running my radio alarm clock came on with a song that instantly made me awake.....all i remember was that it had a line saying "ha ha went the clown"...although it probably was a rubbish song it did make me wake up quicker than usual.i did ask friends at school at the time did they know what it was and no one could tell me. i was wondering if any one here could tell me what it was as sometimes i'm doing manic hours at work and could do with a song that makes me struggle less to get out of bed first thing.thankyou.

At the moment it's still Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor by Artic Monkeys. That intro is guaranteed to get me out of bed in a flash (even when hungover!)

"Ha Ha said the clown" by Manfred Mann? Never really liked the song, as it wasn't a patch on "Mighty Quinn", but it stands a chance.

As for the paper round thing, having a posh alarm that contained a tape deck, I spent a lot of time waking up to "Oblivious" by Aztec Camera (taped off the charts ). And what a tune it was as a livener.

cheers for that nobby. so did you have to get up for paper rounds and needed a song first thing to give you that get up and go as well?

Certainly did sir. Getting up at 06.40hrs became especially difficult when I got closer to 15/16.

snap nobby! for me i had to cycle up hill for a mile and a half to reach the newsagents; by 16 on a cold damp morning my get up and go was total zero.

Hi Vicky,
So did you get in trouble for using internet out of lunch breaks, i know that some bosses can be very tuff luckiy for me at the mo my boss lets me get on with things even though i made a right hash the other day costing the company several hundred pounds still waiting for him to catch up with me!!!
Any way the other day my local radio station played the full verion of pink floyd another brick in the wall it went on for a while and nearly made me late for work but the rest of the day i was totally zing zing zinging! I am also sure i made them a couple of grand so they better not question the few hundred from a couple of days before!!!!!!

I don't care what anybody plays, I get out of bed in my own time.
