As always with America, the Simpsons is 5 series too long and there are not any new ideas in the pipeline. The kids havent grown up and adolescent story lines have never been exploited. The best American animation remains King of the Hill. It is firmly rooted in reality and could be just as funny with live actors.
The Simpsons is decidedly cheesy now and they are straining for effect in every episode.
