Sorry this is OT but there isn't a Futurama forum, and this is the closest thing to it. It's all Groening anyway!
I like the Simpsons but have always thought Futurama to have the edge, as it's jokes are much sharper and it's plot lines cleverer and more layered.
Anyway the thread about the Simpson's episode which made you cry got me thinking that there are actually very few scenes in the Simpsons which moved me, but loads in Futurama:
1) Scene at the end of the episode where they find Fry's dog preserved in dolomite. Shot of just the dog sitting outside the pizza palour waiting and waiting and waiting, as the seasons roll by and you watch the dog get older and older, until finally he justs lays down and closes his eyes. Great soundtrack accompany as well.
2) Time keeps on slipping episode. Where Fry moves the stars to spell out ' love you' to Leyla, only for her to JUST miss it as they blow the stars up.
3) The luck of the Fryish. Where Fry who always thought his brother hated him finds out that actually his brother loved and missed him so much he named his son after him,
4) Leela's Homeworld. The montage at the end of the episode which shows that actually Leela's sewer mutant parents HAD been there for her during her childhood, only she didn't know it.
5) The Devil's hands are idle playthings. The last episode ever made. At the end whereFry loses his gennius ability to play the holophone and everyone has left the auditorium apart from Leela who justs says 'Don't stop playing Fry. I want to see how it ends'. Made more poinent (sp?) by the fact it was the last episode ever and that was the last line.
Another great one is 'The Sting'. The whole episode is great but heart wrenching at the end when you see the truth (trying not to spoil it for everyone). Wake up Leela! Just wake up!

Just noticed, why are all your suggestions from Season 4?
Because it was the best season! I have all the seasons on DVD, but I think the episodes which really strike a chord are in the last season because by then you REALLY know the charcters and the background to their relationships. Also because the Futurama team knew that season 4 would be the last season while they were producing it, they aimed more for tying up loose ends than just random episodes.
