Did anyone else think it was completely insensitive to show an episode with a song including the lyrics " New Orleans, vile, stinking depraved with thieves etc etc" during current circumstances? I thought it was disgraceful

Ah, I saw it too. I guess they just dropped the ball and didn't realise it was in. Never put down to malice what could be put down to stupidity...

So, let me get this straight.

You can create a musical, saying that New Orleans is vile and stinky and it's OK. However, if something negative happens to said city suddenly the musical is controversial and disgraceful?

I FIND IT MORE OFFENSIVE THAT PEOPLE ARE SCARED OF BROADCASTING OR MENTIONING THING BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO OFFEND SOMEONE.

NOW AFTER A HOUSE IN MANCHESTER BLEW UP, ARE THEY GOING TO CANCEL CORONATION STREET AS IT MAY CAUSE OFFENCE TO PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN MANCHESTER TERRACE HOUSES?

Yeah, I know it sounds PC, but it was more about the timing than the episode itself. They pulled "New Kids on the Bleech" after 9/11. (They destroy the "Mad" skyscraper) I think they also pulled "The City of New York Vs Homer Simpson"! Both of those were scheduled to be on Sky.

Where do you draw the line? 3500 people killed in two skyscrapers, 500 people killed and half a million evacuated because of a hurricane, people losing a home/lives(?) in Manchester...

They're all very important to the people involved.

I'm not making the call as to what warrants a reponse. But when something bad happens to a lot of people, I think it's worth treating the subject with respect. Compassion is a cornerstone of what makes us human.
