I agree with that.
A little correction though: The Simpsons has turned into the poor man's equivalent of Family Guy.
I love both shows. But I expect different things from either show. From the simpsons; I expect clever satirical humour. I expect to see a family who are not perfect, but still embody home spun morals and values.
With Family Guy; I expect pure wackiness and hilarity.
The sooner the simpsons end, the better.
The only reason its still going "strong" is because it still has clout when it comes to the commercial side of the coin. But in terms of quality, it has reached a point of no return... actually it's been sinking without a trace for 7/8 seasons now.
The Simpsons will only end when it becomes unprofitable. They said it themselves on an ep. I didn't realize they were serious, but they really meant it.
With the continuation of the show they are betraying the hard core fans. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
