Damn you emos!! It's supposed to be comical! I'm sure that the writers would love knowing that their witty talent in writing is making people cry as opposed to laugh...

I shed a lil tear for Bleeding Gums Murphy. I cried of laughter when Lisa read that poem *ahem* "I had a cat called Snowball She died, she died My mom said she was sleeping She lied, she lied." That and when Homer's mother came into it. All the belching at the end. OH and when Bart put all those megaphones together and said "testing" and shattered all the windows.

Firstly, because we cry at some emotive situations, even if they're just in cartoons, we're 'emos'?! Get over yourself, not everyone has to belong in a ctagory you know. Of course it's comical! It's the funniest cartoon ever made in my opinion. However, the writers don't only make situations funny, they also consider emotive important situations and issues and they mean some parts of the show to be emotive and for people to shed a tear. If a cartoon can make someone cry and laugh in the space of 20 minutes, that's when you know you've got one hell of a cartoon... rant over

Yes! The writers deal with many issues, especially love, that people can relate people and move them. A good example are those when Lisa and Homer become closer and realise they can have a father-daugther bond, this could apply to people who have issues with their parents for example. Or when Homer's mother leaves him, again the same thing applies.

I've cried a few times... the ones that come to mind are when Santa's Little Helper doesn't feel loved anymore, and runs away... the hockey one which was mentioned earlier, with all the flashbacks.... at the end when Bleeding Gums' music is being played all over Springfield.... little things bring a lump to my throat, like Bart writing 'HERO' on the back of Homer's head.. Homer getting everything right for once as a dad and declaring he's 'on a roll'... There are some really emotional episodes in there.

Yes i have! I cried at the one when homer eats the blow fish later to find that he had eaten the poisinous section. I suppose that the first time it might have been due to my age however, it has more to with the slow and painfull way in which he could have died. My Grandad died peacefully after along waiting death, it was almost a year maybe less. But also has a lot to do with the fact that love is always dashed by the bitterest of things.
