Yeah, they are both very sad moments. That's why the simpsons is so great, it's not complete slapstick comedy all the way through. There is an element of seriousness to it. Me and dad think it's one of, if not THE best, comedy around. Apart from Green Wing, of course.

i have to admit i can rarely watch that episode as it gets me blubbering! i also find the poem Marge writes when they think Homer's only got 24 hours to live in One Fish, Two Fish, Blow Fish, Blue Fish quite sad MY GOD! I SOUND LIKE A RIGHT WIMP!!

I thought it was actually quite a funny death of maude because she got hit by a flying t-shirt and got run over!! i mean it's not like being murdered is it!! anyway the simpsons is spose to be funny not sad &:-) bazzington

the whole t-shirt bazooka thing was quite funny really but what got me was in a later episode, the one where Ned creates Praiseland and finally lets her go by pulling the sheets straight at the end  now there's a blubber moment

the one that made me cry was when the family went on holiday and Lisa tried to be trendy and made frends with the trendy older kids. When Bart exposed her 'nerdiness' they did not reject her, but found her col and still wanted to be her friend. Ahhhh.

thats not upsetting at aall! i thought the one barts and lisas memories in was tearful and at the end maggie says *daddie* really get to my heart  no episode can beat it... jst check out my thread below *have you ever cried in the simpsons?*
