I just watched the episode "Jaws wired shut" on C4 earlier. If you're quick you can catch it on 4+1.

Homer was censored for saying "I'm horny"

The show was cut up; part of the audio and video was cut and offset so it de-synched for a few seconds.

It was a terrible edit and it was totally uncalled for. What is wrong with homer saying "I'm horny"?

I'm sure C4 has shown this episode uncensored in the past. Why censor it this time?

The `suicide machine` scene was also cut. When Homer jumped in the suicide machine Marge yells "Stop it, Homer" and Dr Hibbert said "Oh, don`t worry" then Homer injects himself.

In the original version Hibbert actually says "Oh, don't worry. On a man his size, that just provides sexual release."

Correct me if I`m wrong but as a result the `censored` version would therefore appear to include a suicide scene. (To someone watching this episode for the first time.)

Oh, that`s much better for the kiddies and the easily-offended. Suicide instead of a reference to sex.

I'm not sure but I think it isn't actually C4's fault, because they use the same tapes as Sky, so its their fault. Anyway, I could name a huge amount of cuts in episodes, but that would take forever.

He doesnt actually say Im Horny, more like eime ornhy becuase his jaw's all wired up. Don't forget, Sky haven't show the Homer smokes weed episode before 9 whereas c4 have showed it as normal at 6 already.

They always cut stuff.

Its so annoying because most of the parts they cut are one of the best bits of the episode.

its deeply irritating and half the stuff they cut makes no sense as to why its cut, i don't see why they can't just show the episodes after 9pm and not cut them, on saying that though friends is often shown after 9pm on E4 and thats cut to bits too

The same episode appeared tonight, with the same awkward cut of the dialogue.

I made an official complaint when it was shown in November... I didn't even get a reply. It was cut better this time though.

I made the point about the suicide machine scene actually being worse when cut than uncut.

When it was on BBC they never cut any scenes, only any swearwords.

C4 are always editing prog for no reason like friends that cut stupid bit out that don't eed it

They do that quite a lot. The Prohibition episode is always cut to shreds as well. It's better than it used to be - they used to cut the bit where the British fish and chip shop is blown up and where Homer has a barrel on his head and shouts "Look at me! I'm the prime minister of Ireland!".

But they still cut the bit where Fat Tony is failing to bribe Rex Banner and Fat Tony says "OK, you win. From now on, we'll stick to smuggling heroin" and he replies "See that you do.". For some reason once or twice they also cut the bit where they discover "There's also a law requiring ducks to wear long pants" "Let me see that...well I'll be darned - long pants!"

It's just random silliness, really...

Tonights episode was also cut quite badly. Apparently referring to someone as "a dynamo in the sack" OR as a "pervert" will warp young minds. Also, flushing a bear out with carbon monoxide is apparently a no-no.

These must be channel 4's cuts. I never noticed this censorship when I've watched the Simpsons on other channels.
