The correspondent for the Western Mail is a bit adrift though, "Aptly, the Saxon hunting lodge they found was uncovered in a corner of south-east Monmouthshire....." Which hunting lodge was that then? I swear when I watched the programme they only found a small sherd of pottery, not an entire lodge. And, nit picking, but Portskewett is in a corner of Gwent, not Monmouthshire.
OK,OK, so it is Monmouthshire! I was born in (the original) Monmouthshire and then they redrew it all and called it Gwent. And now it's a hodgepodge mess and I refuse to change again so still put my adress as being Gwent. Gah! But they still didn't find the hunting lodge!
