That just about sums up Ch4 right now. They'll run umpteen Big Brother fora all year, but the original forum that started it all off gets no support whatsoever.
I would propose all sorts of action, but as I know it will have no effect whatsoever I can't be bothered. So long, thanks for all the fun and friendships, and I'll miss this place. At least they've given us a little bit of notice to move out.
Steve, is there be anything we could be doing to appeal against this closure? Has BB taken over the funds? Why is it the educational forum that has to close and not that?
The History Forum is very good, but this has a unique charm about it...we've all got to know one another over the years whether it be in person on meetings or just "virtually".
Is this to make way for more forums based on now defunct TV series, ie: The Osbournes, Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares and Friends? These programmes have run their natural courses and ended for good, yet their forums stll exist!
Other C4 programmes have 'seasons', are their forums to be mothballed inbetween? I doubt it very much!
Have we fallen below a secret 'post quota'? I notice that the Castleford Project forum has already been axed. Are we facing a 'downsizing' from C4 so more Big Brother threads can be added?
I'm the first to admit that I haven't been posting on the TTF as much. But this is due to us having two more, very good, 'unofficial' TT sites. Is this how C4 faces up to a bit of competition?
Rant over, lets just have a good P*ss Up in the Trench before we go
Morons ! Onlky Big Brother, Games and Football Italia have more postings than this forum. Lesley you said " I would propose all sorts of action, but as I know it will have no effect whatsoever I can't be bothered. " What sort of action ? We should be bothered !

Calisto - you can try bombarding Ch4 with emails and letters; you can try bombarding the C4 mods with emails; you can try writing to Videotext (the producers of Time Team, but they have no direct control over the forum). You can try lots of things - but we've tried to fight many battles over the years and lost almost all of them.
Don't mistake this for indifference - I am very saddened that this forum is to close. I've been a user of the Time Team forum since it's very beginnings during the 'Live' shoot of 1997. I will miss this place very much, and the very special community that exists here. But I recognise that once minds are made up, no matter what the arguement or reasoning the chances of winning are next to nil. If you've got the energy to try - please go ahead. I'm afraid that the health issues that challenge me right now mean that I don't. But I wish you well!

It just remains for me to say, then, that I've got a lot out of looking after this unique little patch of cyberspace - and I'll miss every quarrelsome one of you!
Quarrelsome hey i'll tell you that ...... Will be a sad day, wil miss you all but how will we organise trips out etc but we could all keep in touch via E-mail. (gaffaw, gaffaw)
Never did see the improovements to your garden Steve Dave humus @ btinternet . com (till i get telewest broardband)
A shame its going to happen I am quite sure we will all be able to keep in touch we have the technology we all have someones e.mail address and there is always other places to get onto power of the net will keep everyone together we must still be able to organise P**S UPS I mean days out. I must say it has been a pleasure to meet all you wonderful people and have some great days and nights out,I have some great pictures of many people I hope I can call friends and it all started throught the forum. Thanks to Steve for doing such a great job Dont worry folks we will live on POWER TO FRIENDS EVEN IF THE FORUM WILL GO? BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE FROM DOUGAL (LIMEGREEN)
I would just like to say if it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't have made lot's of new friends, even if I haven't met them all. Also in an indirect way wouldn't have been going on NT holidays etc as it was due to realising there are some very interesting people out there and providing you are careful can get out and meet them, exchange ideas and passions or have photo taking battles (NW FF, you know who you are!)
I am going to write and complain, yes it won't make a difference but unlike politics and the general election, this is something I do have feelings and opinions on so I would like to have my say!
I think we should make a decision on which forum we are going to migrate to so will all stop together...not sure what other peoples opinion's are?
I for one want to keep in contact with everyone on here and would hate to think the trips all the dedicated members arrange will stop, specially as I have enjoyed all the one's I have been on and am always looking to see if I can make the next one, whichever area it is in!
Access to the fora has been slow during the current series of BB so I suppose we're being sacrificed to free up webspace. Thanks a bunch C4. We'll remember this next time you try to defend yourselves against accusations of dumbing down or chasing the LCD viewers.
Like others here I've met a lot of new friends via this forum. How many of C4s other forums have the same record in this respect?

That is a shame, I'll miss the old place. Thanks for your time Steve Platt. It was a pleasure to 'cyber-meet' you. Come on Port Vale (unless they are playing Swindon, or course).
