Hello folks. Mike in Somerset is back! I haven't been on this forum for a good couple of years, but I am back with avengence now! Enjoying the new series and hope to see some old faces back on here from old discussions. By the way, my new job is totally based in history - I am a full time Henry VIIIth impersonator, bringing everyone's favourite Tudor monarch to life in living history days in junior schools. Well, someone has to do it!

Obviously none of you remember me. Oh well. Just to let you know I am available for living history days in Junior schools throughout Britain (KS2 pupils!). Does Robin Bush ever have a look round here these days? I know he is no longer associated with the programme but he did used to post on the forum quite often...

The name vaguely rings a bell, but not definitely enough for me to have welcomed you back, so to speak!

How much do you charge for History days? (KS2 teacher in Kent hoping it won't be too much....)

Hi Anne B,

Not sure if I can go for a full quote on here, however you can have a look at my website (slowly getting it together!) at www.goodkinghal.co.uk which will give you full access on how to contact me via email/phone etc for a quote. Hope that will be ok! I am doing quite a few shows in Kent over the next few months so another one would be fine!
Best
Mike

Hello Lesley! Someone who was here when I used to be on (admittedly about 2 years since I was last here!). My main excuse for absence? My lovely little boy - James - who is, funnily enough, just over two years old now! Coincidence? Maybe... Smile

Wotcha Mike ! Personally, I like a man with substance, (currently dating Santa Claus), so welcome back. I drop by occasionally when life permits. Now a Tudor Group member myself.

Hi Mandy and Cally. Thanks for the messages. My hits counter on the website is looking quite a bit healthier! Thanks! Have just driven to Sutton in Surrey and back today to do a presentation at a school there - been up since 4am - kernackered is the word, I believe...

Tell us about yer codpiece Mike .....

I trust everything is hand sewn in authentic materials by lovely wenches. At least the footwear of the period is good for standing up all day.

My codpiece is lovely! I always tell the children they come in three sizes - small, medium and "oh my God!" My costume was actually designed and made by a complete genius of a woman in Southampton called Sue Grove. She worked on the 1970's BBC version of the "Six Wives of Henry the VIIIth" and so was an obvious choice to turn to.

Another busy week - just got back from two gigs in Kent and one in Hertfordshire. Great schools! Smile
