I thought it might be starting this thread especially to keep people aware of events taking part in their area.

One to watch out for is the East Anglian Medieval Fayre July 15th & 16th 2006

We went last year, and I think I can say it was the best jousting event I saw in 2005.
It was also worth going just to see the falconry display, by Ye Old RedTail Falconry.

So that's a date then, Tet? Wink I'll put it in my diary.

Mind you, I guess this thread will just get hijacked by the disruptive kiddiwinkies with all the rest of them! Does C4 not have somewhere that people of that ilk could go and play amongst themselves without ruining it for the grownups?

Bit of a stuffy comment isn't it?

No wonder this place is so dull these days.
Frown

Anyway, I like Sausages. Sausages are good.

Maybe you've got time to trog through threads looking for sensible comments rather than rubbish - I haven't. If that's your sense of humour - fair enough. I just don't see why it should be inflicted on innocent parties who are looking for archaeological/historical/TT-related discussions. If threads get deleted round here for wishing other TTFF's a happy birthday, why do C4 allow all this rubbish instead? Confused

Gone to Co's!

Hey Chris, perhaps we should go over to the general BB forum and excavate them - only for three days, of course! Smile

I've always been wary of people who want to ply me with vodka and want to share their sausages.

Anyway, given the actual subject of the thread, perhaps we should put on a re-enactment event. Any suggestions?

Yep, Howard Giles runs a good event. I hope we will be at Newark with the English Civil War Society later in the spring and I'm looking forward to some of our living history events, details of which I'll post later on. There's a chance we might take part in an "immersion" - no that's not the ducking stool, just a kind of "Tales of the Green Valley" week, where we live as close to the 17th Century way as HSE will permit.

It's a shame this one (Nr.Bury St Edmunds) 15/16th July, clashes with a big event in Colchester, but it's well worth going to. Although as they are both two day events, you could do both.
East Anglian Medieval Fair

The jousting event was one of the best I've seen, helped by a very good commentary. Also lots of trader selling their wares. An amazing falconry display, and lots more.
