can anyone tell me some strange slang and their meanings in english that is

it has always confused me how these words have come in existents and why.

Here's one of my favourites: "mingin," which is a Romany gypsy word that's somehow found it's way into every teenager's vocabulary.

Jigger - allyway behind terraced houses in the N/W.
Jiggered - very tired.
Bevvy - drink (bevvy of women?)
Tapped out - stony broke

Interestingly, simon "minging" or "mingin' " were words I had never heard .... until I moved from Yorkshire to Scotland in the mid-1970s. But they are everyday parlance, at least here in the Glasgow area.

They're pretty ubiquitous here too, in the Teesside area.
