The only thing spoiling my enjoyment is that blond woman who’s been brought in to present the dig at Windsor. She talks as though she’s talking to a class of five year olds, pretending not to know the answers and getting over excited at the over rehearsed conversations. I’d love to know who it was at channel 4 who thinks the program is better presented by a good looking bird instead of an archaeologist. I know its all done in the name of ‘entertainment’ but PLEASE...
I agree, an excellent show. I also agree regarding the exitable woman presenter. She'annoying and irksome. Also, what is it with Archaeologists? Is it a 'Part' to grow hair like a woman? Mick is now resembling an old sheep dog, and the fella in Scotland is having difficulty seeing through his tresses.
In order to qualify the post above, I have to say I think the presenter's name is Tessa Dunnlop (?), and that - just in the off chance anybody at Chanel 4 is listening - having an Oxford education is not a guarantee that you (a) know the most about the subject, & (b) can make in tv presentable to a wide-ranging audience. Being female and having blonde hair sems to let some people get away with a lot these days.
I agree about the C4 Windsor presenter she is really annoying. Her best line so far was on Friday night (I think) when she told us that the Q.Mum was 'STILL' buried at Windsor! For one horrible moment I thought the old gal was on TT's list!

Ron.
I can only assume you mean Phil ?.
If so I agree. I think the joke has gone on long enough. Time to ditch the silly hat, the cut down jeans and go and get a haircut. It's all part of growing up.

It's all getting too personal, let's just enjoy it for what it is... Presumably we all watch because we love the programme, if we have gripes with it, turn off!!!!!
I think it's a great achievement, bringing us live coverage for many hours in the day on More4, then putting together the evening prog, great stuff, thanks CH4.

How can I take a male presenter seriously, when he consistantly has to pull the tresses away from his eyes, thus allowing vision? Or, a sixty year old Archaeologist who looks as if he has two white wings sprouting from his head? The first makes me want to puke, the latter is plain bloody sad. Having expressed my opinion on this subject, I find the programme superb. It has transfused TT once more, and even revitalised this forum, where Rigor mortis was the norm. I sincerely hope that the success os this dig will be quickly followed by another. Strike while the iron is hot! Congratultions to all concerned.

Ron, I don’t understand why it bothers you what hair style (or lack of) the presenter have. I like all the original presenters and their eccentricity is rather endearing. At least these people know what they’re talking about.
Would you prefer to see Ant and Dec presenting it next time?

She would make a great presenter of TT, should TR ever decide to call it a day.
My sentiments too. In the meantime, let's hope this is the normal format for "Lives" from now on.
I'm not normally driven to join forums but I nearly did something yesterday that seems inconceivable, I nearly turned off halfway through Time Team. The reason was the female presenter from Windsor who clearly thought it was a junior version of Blue Peter and was clearly far more interested in herself than the subject matter. Please please will somebody at channel 4 get a grip.

..apparently her name is Tessa Dunnlop and she studied History at Oxford, so her screen role in ‘acting the fool’ is all an act. ..so you have to hand it to her, she’s a marvellous actor.

I find her annoying but I suppose she represents the "ignorant viewer" - those who know little or nothing about archaeology or history. What got me, though, was when she asked the same question twice, or asked a question just after he had given her an answer to it. Doesn't she actually listen to what her interviewees are saying. And as for B+. Well, how patronising.

Ron.
Please don't criticise Mick! He always reminds me of my Dad who had sheepdog hair. He was an eccentric historian as well.

Yes, she did make your teeth grate, to put it mildly. Presumably someone at production level told her to dumb it down, which is a bit worrying if this kind of approach is a possible future for Time Team.
A shame when the presenter is a distraction from the subject - Windsor seems to have been a fascinating dig.
Congratulations to Richard Barber, Tim Tatton-Brown, Prof. David Carpenter and Julian Munby for satisfying solutions to the problems set at Windsor. The Round Table will grab all the headlines. But the neat resolution to the location of the Great Hall was a pleasure to watch.
Like Colinc I've been prompted to join this forum because of the appalling presenter at Windsor. It was difficult to see or hear anything connected with archaeology due to her constantly jumping in front of the camera and talking over people. On being shown the floor tile in situ, she immediately wanted to pick it up - hasn't she heard of recording and context? The business with the golf cart was puerile. Then at the end of day 2 (don't get day 3 until this afternoon on s4c),when the camera switched to Alice (why couldn't she present it?) who was trying to explain the siting and contents of the trench, she rushes over, pushes into the shot, interrupts the archaeologists and starts waffling about "girl power". She seemed to have no interest in the subject (only in getting herself on camera), no knowledge of the subject, and a poor on-camera manner - why was she employed?
