....and one giant leap for archaeology. It is brilliant to see the recent settlement discovery at Stonehenge reported across the Australian media, with one of our commercial networks featuring a brief interview with Francis Prior.
It suggests to me that awareness in archaeology in this country is growing and commercial networks are judging these types of stories to be "of interest" and newsworthy. The Big Royal Dig had a similar response.
Anyone who suggests that Time Team has done archaeology a disservice needs their head read!
And anyone who suggests that the location I've given is incorrect would be more awake than what I am at the moment. The discovery was, of course, at Durrington Walls, NEAR Stonehenge. Back to my UK maps...
