Hello there, I'm new to the forum I have a keen interest in archaeology (particularly Egyptology and Neolithic history) although have no experience in the subject. I therefore bow to your knowledge in this matter and look forward to sharing ideas and learning with you
I was wondering if any of you have seen or have knowledge of these:
How's your German? Oxbow Books (http://www.oxbowbooks.com) recently published 'From Megaliths to Metals' (ed. Helen Roche et al), which contains an article by Peter Schauer entitled 'Goldener Zierrat, Goldblechkalotten und Goldbechkegel der Bronze- und Urnenfelderzeit Alteuropas'. I'm afraid there's not much (yet) in English.
I too am interested in Neolithic period archaeology, both of Britain and Europe. Those hats are amazing, there was some discussion regarding them on The Modern Antiquarian website a while back but I'm afraid we did not come up with much more than is in this article.
If you like British Neolithic monuments, you might like to check out the Thornborough Henges and sign my petition to stop the surrounding landscape from being quarried.
Hi there, thank you both so much for your replies. My german is not so good (in fact, non existent), however I was able to translate an english email in to German which I sent to the museum regarding the artefacts. However, I have not heard back from them...
I will check out the Thornborough Henges as you suggest
