Forgive me if you have seen my post in other places but this exhibition is soooh good it deserves more publicity. It is really brilliant. If you can get down to Brighton don’t miss the chance. On my short visit I took 130+ photos and hope to go again before it finishes (September 11th) I think Time Team ought to get down there sharpish and use the sculptures as the basis of an Egyptian TT Special – a very rare opportunity. I have put up some my pictures here
Wow! Just goes to show there's some incredible talent in this country. Do you mind if I print a couple of the pictures? I wouldn't mind framing them for my walls.

They are all marvellous. How are they held together? Do they mix the sand with something to give it stability? Also, are they open to the elements or do they have some kind of shelter? Amazing aren`t they? I would love to see them. Thanks, Eddi
Apparently British sand is no good - the crystals are too slippery and the structures would collapse. They have to import special sand (from Holland?) which has more angular crystals which stick together better.
I'd love to know the answer about shelter though - particularly given the rain we've had for the past few days!
One place in Britain that has modelling sand, is Weymouth, in Dorset. Anyone visiting there will see the magnificent models carved on the beach. Last time I was there, it was 'Snow White and the seven dwarfs. Sadly, they are now protected by nets because visiting 'Yobs' have destroyed them. As an interesting point. During one of the 'Boat ' shows at Earls court, the sand was brought from Weymouth to use for the model creation.
Eileen, have a pleasant stroll along the promenade, you can't miss them. Sometimes the 'creator' is adding to the collection. Over the bridge near the harbour is the 'Boot' inn. They serve a good meal at a modest price.
I did get back to Brighton but did not have time for another visit. They should be there until the 11th so there is still a few days for folks to see these amazing works of art.
I didnt get a chance to look at them Paul as I was away on holiday, good job we have people like yourself around who has taken the pictures and posted them on the site.
