Here is how to NOT wrap a present up as a christmas present!! Although in all honesty if the wife wanted to get me a new detector I wouldn't mind how it was wrapped
I always enjoy reading about the ''FULFORD AND STAMFORD BRIDGE BATTLE'' Great stuff, and not to far away from one of the farms where I have full permission to detect on. Kev.

Who knows, perhaps you'll destroy evidence of part of the battle, as your heritage hero mates did at Marston Moor, prompting the utter scorn of the Battlefields Trust and questions in the House of Lords?
I suppose your intention in posting this sort of thing is to annoy people who care about the resource. You misjudge the situation, spectacularly. The more you publicly reveal about your attitude and actions relating to the resource, the better. And if you care to confirm you are "a typical detectorist" that would be even more helpful.
Lots of news on the Fulford Battle… anyone who can help bleedin define it precisely would save it from being built on. A big problem with battlefields just now… it seems like developers are trying to build on them just now before they are fully protected.
There biggest trouble is access and collating info on the finds…
So accurate GPS locations on finds would be amazing… if you have access to a farm that is ‘on-site’ so to speak. This would be a a great support to them… it is an important battle and should be recognised rather than redeveloped.

Indeed. A comprehensive survey incorporating the use of metal detectors strictly in accordance with English Heritage's guidelines for such things, obviously) would be invaluable.
