Mick 'the Dig' Worthington had to retire from digging some time ago, because of a knee problem. He moved into dendrochronology and has appeared since on a few TT programmes in that role.
Prof Mick Aston was at Buckingham Palace on the Big Royal Dig over August Bank Holiday. He will be appearing in 10 out of 13 of the series shot this year. That has been the pattern for the last few years. Mick does not appear in every programme. Perhaps you have been watching an episode without him on More4?
thanks for the reply i have been watching the dvd's in australia and a few of the 2003/4/5 eps on the telly prof. mick is one i love to watch i hope he keeps doing the series even though he sounds like a man after my heart eg: a vego, friendly but do enjoy my private space, and also have big gates keeping ALL out. oh and that red stuff the comes in bottles!!!!!!!!!
Hey Maggie...got to agree with you on red wine being a damn fine accoutrement of archaeological appreciation. Don't forget to look out for stripey jumpers too.
Anything happening under the dirt where you live? I'm keen to hear about what's happening for people locally.
And you're right Jean - I think there is a bit of a groundswell around these parts, but it's a trick to link everyone together, as I'm discovering!
