Over the years, I've come to respect the Queen as a rather remarkable individual who has done a fantastic job. I don't have very much faith in her successors, though and there are various other minor members who are, frankly, no use nor ornament and should be quitely shuffled aside.

The monarchy as an institution, is something I'm less enthusiastic about. At the moment though, my feeling is "if it aint broke, don't fix it" Currently, its better then having President Blair (Or even in the past, President Thatcher

)but that doesn't mean that it's
always going to be the case, nor should we slip back into the mindset that we can't get rid of them because "They've always been there"
We live in a less rigidly defined world now, where class divisions are becoming more blurred and few have the unquestioning acceptance that was prevalent with my parents genaration,of how society worked. People (and that includes the Royals) are expected to
earnthe respect of others, something which is a legacy of the Thatcher years, ironically.
Now then, It's the Circle Line for Tower Hill isn't it?
