Very probably. I have never thought that the royals as toursist attraction was a particularly convincing argument for maintaining royalty in these isles. I've visited a few republics and they seem to get just as many tourists.

My darling Ron,

Is it respectful to describe some one who disagrees with you over the monarchy odious, moronic and in need of psychiatric help? (All insults you have slung my way over the last few days - no wonder I wanted to wind you up! And it seems I was successful).

Do you live in Tonbridge Wells by any chance?

xx

The monarchy as an institution, is something I'm less enthusiastic about. At the moment though, my feeling is "if it aint broke, don't fix it" Currently, its better then having President Blair (Or even in the past, President Thatcher Smile)but that doesn't mean that it's always going to be the case, nor should we slip back into the mindset that we can't get rid of them because "They've always been there"

We live in a less rigidly defined world now, where class divisions are becoming more blurred and few have the unquestioning acceptance that was prevalent with my parents genaration,of how society worked. People (and that includes the Royals) are expected to earnthe respect of others, something which is a legacy of the Thatcher years, ironically.

Get that cake out of the pantry and have another slice!

Now then, It's the Circle Line for Tower Hill isn't it? Big Grin
