Having trawled through most Archaeology web sites and emailed nearly every contact I can I've come to the conclusion this may be my only way to get help. My 14 year old daughter is interested in a career in Archaeology or one of its relative subjects and needs one weeks work experience in July 2006, either office based or site based. We are in Dudley in the West Midlands can anyone help or recommend anywhere I could try. I've done local councils, English Heritage, National Trust, BAJR. Very much looking forward to hearing from anyone
Have you tried your local museum? Lots of interesting archaeological artefacts to handle, catalogue, display etc.
Or the archaeology officer's department at the local council offices - they have to evaluate archaeological remains which turn up in the ground when new building work is done.
Or the archaeology department at Birmingham University - some of the lecturers may have digs or projects starting at about that time, or the department may have its own museum or collection of artefacts.
