The other one though is also (perhaps more so) interesting, its an Ingvarr stone, erected to the memory of a bloke who took part in a well-known ill-fated expedition through 'Russia' to the Caspian region about 1040... There is a group of some 30 of these in central Sweden which allows us to say something about how the expedition was organized. Great stuff.

Thats right, and the swedish arceology Mats G.Larsson have written a book about the Ingvar expedition 1036-1041, based on the stones,Iceland saga and
Gergian chronicel.

Hello all. Rather than post a new topic, thought I'd tag onto Lindberg's. I am from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and a huge TT fan! Although we do not get the program on television here, I have managed to download every episode and special, and both myself and my wife have watched each one at least twice.

It's a pity Channel 4 does not recognise the fact that fans would like to purchase a dvd set ( I for one have written and asked). I'd love to own a boxed set of each series!

I have purchased three TT books, which are a great read btw: Timechester, What Happened When, and a TT Guide to Archeological Sites...

Anyway, just wanted to say hello, and wish all other Time Team fans a great weekend! Smile

Have to confess.... that does sound like a great idea... having them all in one set, would be both a great teaching aid and resource...

any TT people out there want to comment?

and hello there HistoryNut!
