More 4 are showing 7 episodes of the 2005 series on Christmas Eve. If that helps.
---------------------------- There are always alternatives
i got Freeview last week! but i have been mainly watching MTA and what the romans did for us and Simon Sharma etc.
thats the good news but the bad news is i have got to leave early on christmas eve so i dont miss the last bus (6pm) to my mothers - so i have to leave soon after five in the afternoon. i will have the turkey with me! my mother does not have freeview.
This Freeview is excellent with my cheap but good phillips set top box from Argos. some nice stuff on bbc4 including cinema and music etc.
i badly need a girlfriend (i am single) who has freeview in time for next christmas!
According to the relevant websites there's no coverage in Whitstable either, but high-pressure aside we have very few problems! Your best bet (and the way we did it) is to borrow a box from a friend to try it. If it works, then go and buy your own!
I've found a lot of those website's which require you to enter your postcodes are not always totally accurate anyway. They tend to err on the conservative side and often say "No coverage" where the signal is not terribly strong, probably so they don't get into trouble,
One thing you will almost certainly need is a digital arial though. Don't believe anyone who tells you that you can get Freeview through an analogue one as they are very few ad far between.
i live in leicester and we are not supposed to be in an area where you can officially get it but i can - this area is a bit transitional between Waltham in the wolds and Sutton Coldfield transmitters. my aerial points to Sutton the farthest away - it must be over 40 miles?
i have an old type of aerial (i rent so i am not wasting my money) having the new aerials to the spec on the official DTT? website will help will make a big difference though even with a weak signal you will probably still get it!
i get interference but my neighbours have computers and two sky satellite dishes - this is inner city.
i am making up a new aerial cable of ultra low loss shielded white satellite standard cable to shield out interference.
i got my freeview box from argos at a reasonable £44 the phillips one is good value.
dont get a aerial booster if you have a weak signal the man in Maplins advised me. this is really for people who have more than one tv?
