National Archaeology Week is your unique chance to discover and explore the archaeological heritage of the United Kingdom. During this NINE DAY event, which will run from 14th–22nd July, you can take part in excavation open days, guided tours, exhibitions, lectures, ancient art and craft workshops and much, much more.
Scottish Archaeology Month celebrates Scotland's rich archaeological heritage through a diverse programme of free events held all over the country. Taking place every September, it aims to make archaeology more accessible to the wider public and to encourage awareness, understanding and appreciation of the nation's archaeology.
There are lots of really good family days around the country. Some events need to be booked, so check first. At a number of the locations, Finds Liaison Officers will be present to identify and if necessary, record finds.
