Let's take this to it's logical conclusion. What do you think there would be on the front of the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology?
I'll get me coat...

Tilt - have just got round to watching Fred at Abbeydale. Actually I thought the whole Sheffield piece was excellent (well, I am biased). Is it just me, but I felt the Abbeydale part was lovely but somehow sad. The place seemed so quiet and deserted. And it reminded me that I need to come up to the city of my birth.Have been so preoccupied with the ailing folk in South Devon that I haven't been able to get to the Tykes' contingent! Better do it before it's visiting for funerals... But what a tilthammer! Wellies all round.

Cheers for the welly. 'nish I also watched the 'Dibnah does Abbeydale' programme the other day. Typical weather, all the way up Wincobank to see the top of the cloudcover Tilt, I want a go at the hand-casting! We used to do that on afters when I worked at Laycocks. (I can bring my own gloves and visor )

Looks like the Coast is clear. Dungeon is in darkness so Patzer must be gone. Everning all. Late night wellys on the bar. Also some Cream Cake and Apple Tart with Custard. Good to see some of the regulars again. I've missed you guys.

It's not just you. I feel the same. I go down there as often as I can. The FD session was filmed on a Friday, when it is closed to the public, (also closed during the winter months).

You should talk to the folks at Kelham Island. I seem to remember hand casting from a crucible from an induction furnace as the "other end" of a two handed pour, when I was nobbut a lad. That was enough for me. I wouldn't fancy trying to lift one single handed.

Thanks for that - and the welly. Actually I'm slightly rounder than he is.

I've always loved the way the peg in the water wheels shaft operates the tilthammer and putting another peg in speeds up the strike rate (Out of Town, 70's prog)

Thanks for the map of Salisbury, humus Let me get you a welly Tilt, that's exactly what we did. But our little ladles were put in a ground level gas furnace and fed with small pieces of scrap steel until we had a ladle full of molten steel. It took two of us to lift the ladle out of the furnace with tongues and to cast the steel into a sandbox mould. Casting aluminium was more difficult, in my opinion, because the lower melting temp. made it harder to control.

How did that get in here. I thought the only medical periodicals allowed in here are Ye Modderne Barber's Almanac, Goodwyffe Johnson's Seasonal Guide to Herbals and What Physick Monthly.
Tilt, you forgot that most important tome, Ye Whitches Herbe Monthlie , with its special supplement, Herbe of ye seasone... Breakfast this morning will be scrambled ostrich eggs, kedgeree, kidneys turbego, porridge, croissants, Klatchian coffee, tea, and fruit juices... 'morning all... Jim

A slice of quiche flan sounds nice Henge, with a welly to swill it down with of course, thanks. I need something to give me a boost...I've just got a job interview for a job I know I won't get (someone is already seconded to it) but I still need to give it a 100% so it will look good on my record incase another postion comes up soon. I've been asked to go for it by my boss so don't want to let him down and I can see all the positive sides for applying..just seems a lot of stress for something I don't have much chance of getting! (yes I know I should be more positive as I might knock their socks off and get the job over the one who is doing it now) So a nice big welly is in order at the moment...specially as i've just read what i've got to do a presentation on...a toughie to say the least!
