Went to Leeds to the Royal Armouries Museum for Bushido Week. Well what can i say except terrible Motorways/drivers (lucky i have driven in Rouen in rush hour ) brilliant displays and Interpritations, will be going back for more as i didnt see any of the other stuff as time wasnt on my side (needed 2 days realy)
Blimey Things have certainly changed round here. Some of you may remember me from way back on the old forum. Haven't posted for a while as some heartless lout thought they'd take all my electrical stuff away while I wasn't at home, then the man from the insurance wasn't playing nice when I asked for replacements, but I'm finally back online and eager to explore this strange new forum.
if you can find it, the 'Welcome to new forum friends' thread (probably on page 2) will give you a little insight into who is where on this new forum.

Can anyone give me an indication if the Current Archaeology magazine is worth subscribing to? Any comments both for and against will be greatly appreciated. Cheers all!
Well only just got back into the Time Team chat thing but glad to see that we still have a North West section .... just!
Went to my local history night the other week and it was on the dig in Chester. Had some very interesting photos with them. Anyway the guy giving the talk said that the elephant's bone that they found dated from 1290 to 1310 and they are now trying to find out whether it was an Indian or African elephant and if it was living in Chester or had died previously.
Don't know about high tides but the rain is awful this weekend!
Is the dig you mention still going on? What were/are the archaeologists hoping to find? I think Chester is the venue of the next TTFF National Meet in March so let's hope the rain holds off then.
Last I heard, things were in hand, and I seem to remember Kieth S. had a hand in it.
No doubt we'll be told when things are coming together.
I have to apologise for not posting lately, for some reason I've not had the time recently (It might have something to do with finally getting around to reading The Lord Of The Rings.) I have been reading on occasion, but posting is usually way too slow to bother.
I hope you appreciate the special effort for this. <g>
very busy with work hence the not not here very oftenness. Chester is the venue of the national in March. Keith S is once again the principal organiser, I will be lending a hand if requested (when I have time - hopefully I will haev some time startignt from a week on Friday).
