Ok folks - can I propose Sat. 12th of June as a date for Penrith?

Have worked out a possible full day itinerary that has the option of being shortened depending on how much there actually is to see!
Will put it on the website over the weekend. Big Grin

Better and better! I've driven past Brougham Castle countless times and always wondered what it was like, but never had the time to stop. Can't wait 'til June. Smile

Sounds good to me too.

Should be able to escape from work, given this much notice.

Looks very Interesting Phil, l have no idea if l can get the time free at the moment but would like to go if l can! Just one question, is a car required to get round? l would most likely come up by train and therefore it would depend on how accesable the itinary is!

sniffy - looking at the map it is a nice little walk for the afternoon if you haven't got a car.
I would say about 4 miles in total.(Plus if you walk you may get to see the Plague Stone on the way back Wink )

If you put this GridRef - NY520297 - in the Get-a-Map box here and set scale at 1:50,000 you will see the main points of the itinerary.
