I'll have you know you're dealing with sensible, mature people...

Of course, I've no idea who they are.

Everyone here is sniggering to themselves like Beavis (Or possibly Butthead. ) Big Grin

Wigan Archaeological Society.
Grand Arcade Project, Millgate,Wigan.
Shepards the Developers of the site have given the Archyaeologist's an extra five weeks to finnish off the excavations.

Ian Miller, Site director is organising a special preview for W.A.S. members on Wednesday 11th May at 7pm (If you have them bring your own, as limmited supply of hard hat's & reflective jackets (bring your own siteboot's) are available)

The site is going to be opened for public viewing of the site on Saturday 14th May, they are aiming for hourly tours.

It has been suggested that the Developers may try to incorparate the finds in the building with a glass floor, so people can see the colonaded mansio/bassilica/temple, bathhouse & grain storage areas.

Route to Salisbury from the North West:
1. Find M6
2. M6 to M5
3. M5 to J11A
4. A417 then A419 to Swindon (signposted Cirencester and M4)
5. Cross over M4 onto A346 towards Marlborough
6. Continue past Marlborough on A346 towards Salisbury, Andover
7. At Collingbourne Ducis take the A338 towards Salisbury.
8. At A303 junction stay on A338 towards Salisbury.
9. This road takes you right into the centre of Salisbury, from where you will need to follow directions to where your staying. If you're staying at the youth hostel:

1. Take the ring road (A36) towards Southampton (2nd exit at roundabout)
2. At next roundabout take the first exit (A36 towards Southampton)
3. Take the first left onto Tollgate Road [the Youth Hostel is probably signed from here anyway]
4. At the end of the road, turn right onto Rampart Road
5. Take the first right onto Milford Hill
6. The Youth Hostel is on the left.

Chris

Don't usually have a problem finding the M6 but heading in the right direction on it is another thing ... once got to Sandbach Services before I realised I was heading the wrong way for Scotland Big Grin

Fish I saw a great idea for you - a kid got his helium balloon trapped in the car door outside work and it hovered high above the car for ages Cool.

Or there is the totally outlandish suggestion of making a mental note of where you parked (who shouted "glass houses" Red Face)

With enough baloons you wouldn't need to bother with the driving, just fly home!

I'll have you know I'm quite happy in my little rubber cell here in Ashworth, and no-one's going to move me out of it. When do the Salisbury piccys go on view?
