The Team are in Caerwent, Monmouthshire until tomorrow. Went to pay a visit yesterday (first time I have had the pleasure to visit a TT dig)had a very enjoyable couple of hours. managed to meet all the regulars and get one of my TT books autographed - joy!! Everyone was very friendly - especially Stuart. As far as I could tell there was only one trench so far - area known locally as the paddocks - found the walls of 2 shops/houses?, bits of 3rd / 4th C pottery and (I think) a coin. Planss are to put trenches in at another part of Caerwent, next to the car park. If possible I will go and pay another visit before they leave - work permitting.
Yes, but..... Having been there only 6 weeks ago, pre TT, some of what this piece lists is already known and visible - like the temple and the forum. It's great that they have excavated new areas and thus add to what is known, but the journalist does noone any favours to imply TT uncovered the lot! I shall be very interested to see this one.
from the photos my dad bought back from day 2 and 3 of the dig it looked really interesting specially with the photos of Phil Harding dressed as a roman. Can we post pictures here or just a link to somewhere they were uploaded too? as I would love to share them with the board.

Although Ch.4 have relaxed some of their rules, they still don't permit links to personal websites, and there isn't a facility for posting pictures.
Not on this particular site anyway
