TIME TEAM COULD SOON FILM IN ISLAND AN Isle of Man episode of popular archaeology series Time Team is 'very much on the cards', according to series editor Michael Douglas. Discussions are in the final stages and potential excavation sites have been chosen by the team behind the Channel 4 show, although they haven't been revealed.
It is expected a decision on whether filming will go ahead will be taken next month.
That means the Island could feature in the next series of the Sunday teatime favourite, due to be broadcast in January, with long-serving crew members like archaeologist Phil Harding expected to take part.
'It is safe to say it is still very much on the cards,' Mr Douglas said.
'It has in no shape or form been forgotten about.
'If it goes ahead I will be directing that episode and I went over a couple of months back for a recce with a researcher and spotted a couple of very interesting sites.'
He added: 'We are very keen to do one there, we are very keen that it is this year and we have an idea of when we would like to do it.
'It will be a cracker if it goes ahead.'
Presenter Tony Robinson let the cat out of the bag during his one-man show at the Gaiety Theatre in March.
Asked whether the Island would ever be featured in Time Team he revealed he was 'almost certain' the crew would visit this summer. 23 June 2006
