Was Jurassic Park based on real archaeological finds?

It would be paleontology and the story is more important than facts. The raptors shown in the film ain't that big but there are better people than me here to go over any of that.

I thought it was a documentary......

Velociraptors were only 2 meters long about the size of a turkey but there is a dromaeosour called utahraptor which was 6 metetrs long, which is the sise of the velociraptors in the jurasic park films.
