I haven't heard anything. Where did you get this from? This does crop up every few years mind you.

I thought Kate Humble was taking over from him.

News to me. Wouldn't Cally have mentioned it? When we say that he is finishing with Channel Four does that mean he will not be participating in programmes shown on Channel Four, or that programmes in which he is involved will not be available to C4 or what?
Or are we talking about his involvement in TT?

Tony is certainly doing more voiceover work which suggests either he has a very good agent or his priorities have changed.

Voice overs take up less than a day - I doubt if that would change his commitments elsewhere to any great extent.

I suspect a case of Chinese whispers.

Yes Jean, that could be correct. It came from a conversation on a train between two people who seemed to know what was going on at Ch4! They certainly had a huge amount of inside knowledge, whether it be true or not, I have no idea, that's why I asked...

Certainly is puzzling, arawn. I expect Cally is checking it out.

I've heard he's going to work for British Gas - "At the end of day three, at the bottom of trench four, we've found something...it's a gas pipe!"

British Gas finding a gas pipe? That would be a novel occurrence....

Yes it's usually ham-fisted JCB drivers who find those; and electricity mains, telephone lines, TV cables, sewers, priceless Roman mosaics, Bakerloo Line etc.

I forgot water mains. They always have a high entertainment value when breached.
