What magazines did everyone used to buy?
I remember buying

Fast Forward- Because they used to include a Take That feature every week plus you used to get quite a few free gifts.

Big - Just remember there used to be huge posters you could pull out.

Smash Hits - Who could forget the songwords section

Just17 - How grown up we thought we were reading it before we actually were 17 lol.

Sugar - Embarrising now I know

I liked J17 but knew the moment I grew out of it was during the obsession with Titanic and anything to do with Leo DiCaprio, including a list of what the editor thought were the greatest films ever...most were chick flicks that were barely two three years old!

Sadly I bought all of the above at some point during my teens....Fast Forward..omg forgot all about that lol

I used to read Bliss, Sugar, J17 in my teens, i loved the "embarassing" stories, the "i slept with my teacher and my baby's his stories," make-up and clothes and the good ole problem pages!!!

I then advanced to Company and Cosmo (lol)

Now I dont really have time or money to buy mags...i just read em in WhSmiths..preferably when it's busy and then nip out quickly lol..

My opinion is that soap and celebrity magz are just a waste of time...call me a hypocrite..i do pick em up to flick thru.

Give us sum decent magz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who remembers "Look In" think I only ever bought it once or twice.

I remember when Bliss magazine first came out (called It's Bliss) because all the girls in year 11 got a free copy lol.

I used to like Look In, smash hits, transformer comics and 90 minutes - surely the greatest football magazine that ever was...

It's really funny this thread has appeared as I've found about 8 copies of Just17 that I've kept from around 87/88. They are very funny indeed.

I used to read Girl back in the eighties. The occasional copy of Jackie and Smash hits. I think there was a magazine called Now which came out in about 1984 all about pop music. Can anyone remember?

Ha ha...Girl magazine, I remember that one OB, a friend and I wrote into the problem page as a joke about a friend of ours when we were at school and it got published!!!
