The adult version with the same presenters was called O.T.T
What a fantastic choice kids TV on a Saturday morning was in the 70's!! There was BBC's 'Multi Coloured Swap Shop' hosted by the ever-youthful Noel Edmunds, with side-kicks Maggie Philbin, Keith Chegwin and John Craven where kids to ring in a try and swap a broken piece of lego for a bike or something!! (Yeah right!), OR TISWAS with Chris Tarrant, Lenny Henry, Bob Carolgees, Sally James, the Phantom Flan Flinger (wans't that Chris's Dad??) and the odd appearance by 'Sir' Trevor McDonald.
So, kids could either learn how to become dodgy sales traders or hooligans!!!
I watched a bit of both - so that probably makes me a dodgy hooligan or a hooligan salesperson!!!
The very early editions of TISWAS back in '74 were fronted John Asher, Peter Tomlinson weekend station announcer for ATV, Tarrant then a reporter covering the wackier stories for the regional news show ATV TODAY, followed by Trevor East the sports presenter. Crazy unrehearsed links into cartoons and film clips became compulsive viewing for adults and kids alike. Didn't think much to the last series minus Tarrant, for me the show was Chris, Sally James and the gang.Still got those last 2 Tarrant shows on tape.

Glad someone else remembers John Asher. Nobody I know has a clue. I kept the last show, with the original gang on VHS for ages, but it's gone now.
