I look back in fondness to the days when the word "the" was used when saying the date! Nowadays its all "wednesday 9th april"

WHATS WRONG WITH "WEDNESDAY THE9TH OF APRIL"!!! Mad

It's the little things!............

I totally agree, although it's the americanisation of money that annoys me even more - "this sofa is just 4-9-9, yes 4-9-9!" NO! it's 4 hundred AND 99 POUNDS!!!!!!!

my dad gets cross when they pronounce nestle as "nestlay" because he says it used to be nestles. i point out that it's a french-speaking company but he just sulks.

but your Dad's right it was pronounced Nestles for years. and when you have grown-up with adverts trying to sell you Nestles Milky Bar it's hard to get your head around this "Neslay" stuff.

Most people still use the word 'the' when saying the date.

Thankfully we do not yet say 'September Eleven' yet, like the Americans do.

I still say Opal Fruits instead of Starburst. I remember when Coco Pops changed its name to Choco Crispies or something like that. There was a free phonenumber you could phone (like a petition) for them to change it back to Coco Pops - and they did! Choco Crispies sounds stupid whereas Coco Pops is clearly genious! Lol
