i use 2 collect golly badges in the late 70's 80's and early 90's. can remember taking the wrapper of the jars and sending the tokens for the badgers. i'm sure it was 3 tokens and 25p. i was jealous of my friend as she collected rubbers the use to smell of strawberrys ect. i wasn't allowed to collect them (don't know why) mind you i'm laughing now as i have a big collection and they are in mint condition as i never opened then and wore them!

I used to collect those Smurfs you got from petrol stations.
I was really young though and I lost them all in a tsunami incident in a big puddle out the back of our house in the alley.
They're worth a fortune now. I don't think I could find them at the time because my Mum dragged me back into the house because I had got soaked in the puddle.
What was it about smelly rubbers? I remember having one in the shape of an icecream and when my sister got in a mood with me she bit bits off it at which point I went mad at her.
I collected rubbers and keyrings and insisted taking them everywhere with me ! Had absolutely loads of them. We went on holiday one year and I took the whole collection with me and left them there - OMG - didn't realise until we got home !!!!!!!!! Cried my eyes out for days !
I was a bit of a collect-o-maniac as a kid!! Collect anything! Mainly smelly rubbers, little Wad ornaments and marbles. But I also had matchbox cars, smurfs (for a short while until the novelty wore off!). Had stacks of those smelly rubbers.
Also used to have sheets of those scrath 'n' sniff stickers. The mint ones smelt lovely, the rootbeer one smelled like surgical spirit!!!
