Did anyone have any TV programmes that terrified them?

I was (and still am) scared stiff of Bagpuss, even typing it makes me shiver.

Noseybonk from Tony Hart's Take Heart. That thing was pure evil.

The Triffids, but then again I was only about 10-11 when that was on.......

Well Strange But True did (see topic programmes that freaked you out). As for triffids never saw it, but just finished reading book Day of the Triffids.

"Never let your work become your life, Kerry. Live a little."

"Come on Bert, it's now or never" - Classic.

Oooh, same here. Loved that programme. Also got scared by "Armchair thriller" or "Armchair theatre." Can't remember what the correct title was, but it was spooky.

I'm glad it's not just me terrified of him. There's a similar discussion to this around here somewhere, where I picked Noseybonk.

A lot of things terrified me when I was a kid, but none more than him. He was on 'Jigsaw'. I was convinced that when you turned the telly off at night and that white dot appeared in the middle of the screen, he'd come rushing out of it (a la the Japanese film 'Ringu'). Cue many sleepless nights.

If you google his name you can get a clip of him pottering around in his greenhouse (If you reeally want to).

I thought "why not?", assuming it'd have no effect on me. How wrong I was. Even the music nearly made me cry. Eek

OMG I just watched him on yourtube Eek

Quite right it was Jigsaw, but I do recall something of equal sinister status on Take Hart (not morph).

I going to have to google bagpuss now, I just can't help myself.

THe X files scared me a lot. Especially the theme music. I remember trying to get to sleep when i was younger whilst I could hear the theme music coming in from the living room. That would keep me up for hours, thinking there was an alien outside my room.

And also, it was more recent, and at age 12 i should of been scared but, the show TAKEN freaked me out. The episode where there is the Jacob brotheres or something, half alien half human, and if you look into their eyes you can see your death...and they were in a burning house at the time, so only saw what was in front of him. Shit that had me scared for like a year.
