Spangles were the best! Another favourite sweet of mine was Pacers

I loved Spangles. my fav were the mustared coloured ones. We cauld not alway get them here.

I liked spangles but preferred Opal Fruits. I think they were advertised as being able to quench your thirst but I used to feel thirstier.
I think you were able to buy a packet of, all blackcurrant Spangles, at one time.

I have fond memory's of Spangles even though i hated them.

But i loved Opal Fruits.... Opal fruits, made to make your mouth water...Ping......
god! i even remember the tune!

yes i can remember them i can still remember the taste of them horrible. for some reason i hated them. what i did love tho was galaxy counters and treats all the different kinds of them i couldnt beleive they replaced treats with m+m's just not the same

and what about love hearts, and they are still going today, can you remember the buzz when your 7 and upwards, and that special one in your class passes you the "I love you" love heart. such sweet memories.

Yeah I remember Spangles - they were fab! Unfortunately they were re-launched in the late 80's or early 90's but were horrible, so I guess were withdrawn.

We also had a gorgeous tortoiseshell cat called Spangles too! Big Grin

I also remember Pacers. Like mint flavoured opal fruits. I remember they were pure white and then all of a sudden a couple of green stripes were added to them.

they relaunched spangles when i was a kid and got those two men off live and kicking (rly cant remember their name) to advertise them.it was simon and somebody.
i really liked a pack of sweets and cant remember the name but they were little square hard boiled ones in different flavours and the green one was watermelon

yes the orange coloured ones were my fav but they did`nt taste orange.

You mean Trevor & Simon.

The hard square sweets wouldn't by any chance by Tutti Frutti's would they? Dunno about the green ones being water melon. They were around when I was really little in the 70's, I would have said lime if anything. Don't even know if you can still buy Tutti Frutti's???? Confused

Old English Spangles were my favourites, they came in a black and white wrapper. Smile

They always were the last sweets left in my "selection box" at Christmas!

But you know what?

They tasted wonderful about mid-March the following year!
