Childrens programs that freaked me out are Animal Kwackers and Pipkins especially Hartley Hare.

I still have a fear of electricity pylons and stations after public safety films.

"Doctor Who and the Green Death" with Jon Pertwee frightened the life out of me. I was so affected by it that, at bedtime, I would run along the landing and jump from my bedroom door on to my bed. I was terrified that there were giant maggots lurking under the bed which would grab me by the ankles if I walked into the room. "Doctor Who" can still wig me out - that recent one set in WW2 with the gas masks called "The Empty Child" was truly horrific.

The one that sticks in my head was "Mystery and Imagination." It was around the late 60's early 70's. Absolutely terrifying! Skull

I was a bit afraid of "Robert the robot" from Fireball XL5 for some reason, and he was one of the goodies! Loved the show cause it was "REAL!" Roll Eyes

The great big balloon thing on The Prisoner used to freak me out especially when you could see the "victim's" face through it. At about the same time there was an advert about plastic bags being a danger to children, they had a head thing that they put the plastic bag over and it sucked the air out making the bag cling to the face of the head, the spooky voice then said "if this were a child it would be dead" or words to that effect. I couldn't stand being near plastic bags for ages so I suppose it worked.

Oh y...e....h "The Prisoner." I forgot that one. Number 6 never did get away did he? And that "white ball" used to roar, even though it didn't have a mouth!

There was a programme on in the 80's Called "The Tripods" It was about these big tripod things that went around terrorizing people. I had nightmares about them for ages afterwards.

You must be around the same age as me! Those 2 programmes terrified me. but I fancied Will in the tripods so just had to watch Big Grin

Oh that scared me too! I'd forgotten about all these programmes. There was one episode about a musical box that scared me. I'd love to watch it now and laugh at what used to terrify me!

I can't believe that no one rememebrs this programme but me. I'm fairly unscarable by tv - I'm usually freaked out by weird things that are not intended to be scary e.g theme tunes.

The kids' cartoon, The Giddy Gameshow scared the hell out of me when I was little and it still would if I saw it today. I'm petrified of gorillas!! Lol!! If anyone remembers this please say so cos it drives me mad that no one but me knows about it!!

Spitting Image was a show with these horrific looking puppets who were supposed to be famous people. I think the most famous one was Margeret Thatcher.

Ha well it a was nightmare that caused life-time scarage then. Speaking of nightmares, it was on around the same time as the show Nightmare (mid 80s) and on also on CITV.
