My name is Clare Maxwell and I am a third year student at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London beginning research for my dissertation and final year project. This project is entitled “Second to the Right and Straight on til Morning,” Peter Pan’s directions to Neverland in J.M Barrie’s Play and Novel.
To help my project developement I have composed this questionnaire to gather research as to how childhood is viewed by different generations, the stresses these people feel and how they escape these pressures.
If you could answer the following questions I would be so grateful:

Do you often think about your childhood or ever have nostalgic longings for the past?

Do you think that you have retained any of your childhood ways or carry any childhood qualities and traits?

What are the main worries and stresses you feel and have day – to – day?

How do you relax and de stress from these worries?

Is there anything that you do that allows you to completely escape from these stresses and realities and free your mind for a period of time?

Hello!! Here are my answers to the questions.....

Do you often think about your childhood or ever have nostalgic longings for the past?

I do often think about my childhood, and me and my friends often talk about our childhood and whether we did anything that was the same. For example whether we watched the same cartoons, went to the same kiddie places such as the fun factory etc. I do have longings to return to my childhood for the lack of responsibility and stress.

Do you think that you have retained any of your childhood ways or carry any childhood qualities and traits?

Yes!!
I am a very playful person and will play with anything that is around me. I also often watch films i used to watch as a child...last week i watched alice in wonderland for about the millionth time.

What are the main worries and stresses you feel and have day – to – day?

My main stress is university work, which i am constantly worried about. (Thank god its my final year!) I also worry about my responsibilities and the people around me, things i have to do, expectations i am supposed to meet.
Im also stressed out about my driving test, no matter how hard i try or how good i am at driving my nerves always cause me to fail.

How do you relax and de stress from these worries?

I usually hang out with friends, read books (harry potter is my favourite), listen to music, watch television or films (such as smallville or lost), drawing, painting and im also trying to write my own fantasy story so i often spend time researching/writing/drawing aspects of that.

Is there anything that you do that allows you to completely escape from these stresses and realities and free your mind for a period of time?

Reading usually does the trick, also watching films or television as they allow me to enter a fantasy world, where i try to forget about the real one.

Hope thats ok, pixie x
