Here's one to test the ol' memory bank - especially if you were only 9 when the 70's ended like I was!!! Wink

Just wondered who can remember what shows from the 70's. (I'm not necessarily saying they had to be invented in the 70's because I know some carried through from previous decades but I physically cannot go back any further!!).

Here's my selection:

Ivor the Engine
Mr. Benn
Teddy Edward
Ludwig (Wierd violin playing egg shapped thing!)
Pipkins
Magic Roundabout
The Wombles
Blue Peter
Grange Hill
Baba Papa
Mr. Men
Paddington
John Craven's Newsround (Yawn!)
Jackanory
The Herbs
Camberwick Green
Trumpton
Mary, Mungo & Midge
Barnaby Bear
Andy Pandy
Words & Pictures

Phew! Got a headache now! Your turn!! Wink

Aww The Clangers, how could I have forgotten them?!! Wink

Funny how seeing things in writing stirs the old memory bank. I've thought of a few more:

Rentaghost
Picture Bos
Fingermouse
Chigley
How!
Bagpuss
Rainbow
Bod
Captain Pugwash
Champion the Wonder Horse
Magpie
Tiswas
Swap Shop
Look & Read
Hectors House

C'mon somebody's got to have a memory better than mine!! Wink

I thought Fingermouse himself was lovely...though I thought the balding, bearded guy (was he called Yoffy?!?!) was well creepy.

Perhaps not a better memory but a different one. Mine are that I can remember off the top of my head:
Rag Tag and Bobtail
Stingray
Fireball XL5
Twizzle
Thunderbirds
Tales by the riverbank
Bill and Ben
The one with Spotty Dog...
Vision on
Crackerjack
The Moomins
Rhoobarb and Custard
Belle & Sebastian
Captain Scarlet.

Think I better lay down now and take one of the little pink ones!

Guessing the milkshake at the end was my weekly entertainment! Me and my brother would yell flavours at the tele.

I couldn't agree more! As a kid I couldn't bear Jackanory - except the closing credits. I used to feel like I was being preached too!! Roll Eyes

Pogles Wood was my fave, but it was more mid to late 60's. Loved the Pogles, so much so I bought the videos to show my nieces but they weren't overly impressed.

Thanks to the internet it is now possible to be extremely well informed and completely wrong at the same time

Sorry Nellie - I don't remember that either. Never even heard of it in fact which is unusual for me, because even if I wasn't around at the time (and I wasn't in the 60s) I've normally heard of things through my Parents.
