I thought the best bit was when he found her injecting herself and jumped to the conclusion that she was a skag head and went running off. She then lost her Insulin and started to fall into a coma only to be saved at the last minute.
Brilliant.
And a great snapshot of the eighties. Gillian Kearney was looking good in '87.
Oh yes, a genuinely sad moment in TV history. Poor old Damon had been such a great character as well. I always remember his Liverpool vs Everton rivalry with Rod Corkhill, and when him and his mates used to wind up Paul Collins when they first moved in!
Brookside in it's entirity was superb. The stupidest thing Channel 4 ever did was to axe it. But then they did mess around with the storylines so much that it went from a believable soap into a wishy washy TV show. I reckon the whole series should be repeated. If not on C4 then on one of the satellite channels. I can remember the very first episode and to me, the Damon & Debbie storylines seem like only yesterday - cannot believe it's almost 20 years ago!!!!!
Yes I remember it was a great storyline but very sad was devastated when Brookeside finished it was my favourite soap to me no other soap is in its league
Brookeside is my favourite soap of all time damon and Debbie story was so sad ,when the very last episode of Brookeside was on and Jimmy Corkhill was walking out of the close at the end and went back and wrote d at the end of Brookeside Closed I cried
