Prisoner Cell Block-H was with best Cheesy 321! Although I did enjoy Sons & Daughters as well as the early editions of Neighbours, The Young Doctors etc etc!!! Remember bunking off school to see Neighbours and stopping up all night just to try and catch PCBH!! (The things we had to do pre-video recorders!!).
I'll be 35 in 18 days time Cheesy! I too started work at the end of the 80's.
Don't remember Sunset Beach (other than the title) sounds American rather than Aussie but I might be totally wrong there.
Not soaps as such but I remember -The Henderson Kids (with a very young Kylie) - Pugwall (which used to be on nearly every school holidays - Families (Brit/Aussie soap)
~*~*~To you I shall say, as I have often said before, 'Do not be in a hurry, the right man will come at last. (Jane Austen)~*~*~
I used to love Neighbours and Home & away in the 80s. I remember we used to go to a friends house to watch it at dinner time (late back to school afterwards ). I had been known to watch the repeat again at tea time.
I remember watching Pugwall back in the early 90's during the summer holidays. Think it was on Channel 4 in the mornings before "Gamesmaster". Forgot that Troy Beckwith (Michael Martin from Neighbours" was in Pugwall too.
Indeed Troy Beckwith was in Pugwall. I wonder what happened to the guy who played Peter Unwin George Wall (aka Pugwall!)?? I can't even remember his name.
Not so much a soap - and I think more VERY early 90's than late 80's, but does anyone remember 'Betty's Bunch'? Ok, it was set in NZ - but it did star Maggie Kirkpatrick (Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson) out of PCBH as Betty.
i remember having to wait until the ITV 10 o' clock news was over to watch PCBH and Families (which seemed to be later and later). I always thought it was a very odd series but the naffness kept me hooked. I must have been about 14/15 at the time and also loved Neighbours and H and A.
i watched almost all those shows but i didnt bunk of school i was already left when they were on

To all you PCBH fans out there. It's worth keeping an eye on Val Lehman (Bea Smith) website which is www.val-lehman.com as that contains news about the DVD's and other things.
my mum was a huge neighbours fan in the 80's apparently when i ready to be born my mum was watching neighbours and wanted to finish watching it before she went to the delivery room lol
To all the PCBH Fans out there I've just noticed that The Official Prisoner Cell Block H website (OTI) and The Official Val Lehman Website have both recently been updated!
I don't think there were any day time soaps when I was at school, all I seem to remember being on tv during the day were the schools programmes. Hardly worth bunking off school for ..
Always be yourself as you can't be anyone else, unless of course you have multiple identities.
