i am so sorry for your lose, but it is true, life still goes on....

i lost my dad on 18th Dec 1987 ( i was 21 ), and i lost my sister on 14th Dec , 3 years ago ... it is very sad whatever the date, but Christmas is a special time and we tried very hard to celebrate it,....
i know if anything happened to me, i wouldn't want my family to be sad ALL the time .

we now have a special meal over Christmas for each lost member of the family... with what was their fav dessert... my sister's was Banoffee Pie and my dad's was trifle... silly really , but it is special for us Smile

Hello Iloveolga!

So sorry to hear of your sad loss!
I lost my mother just after my 16th birthday, she so wanted to see
Christmas that year but sadly couldn t! The previous year she built a mini snowman on the window ledge as she was too ill to venture outside! I will always remember that day!
Keeping a memory in my heart helps me carry on!

Are thank you Vanessvixen. Its the little things that help. Its not so bad these days but People think sometimes you are mad grieving over an animal. When I lost a dog at 6. I made a little area with his fav toy, a photo, and a few other bits and that really helped me to overcome the grief. I have lots of animals but it doesnt get any better you still miss that one animal. Last week one of my budgies died and I was very sad about that. YOu miss their antics just as much but just cos its not a larger animal people think it doesnt matter.

Seaslug! So very sorry to hear about your Budgie! As you know, I feel the same way about the loss of an animal, I think its strange when people dont! They are part of the family and it s surely only natural to feel sad at their loss!
I think you re brilliant to care so much, and my thoughts are with you. Animals have feelings and personalaties just like we do! I hope Christmas isn t too sad for you. bless you.

No it's not silly, people remember family in their own special ways.

Don't be silly, an animal,as a pet is part of the family, and I can remember when I adopted a dog from the RSPCA, If I hadn't of had him he would have been put to sleep the next dy, as they were running out of kennel spaces, he had a happy 8 years with me until he passed away, due to kidney and liver failure. Pets are members of the family as far as I am concerned.

Hi Ya Folks. Many thanks for the kind words. Its nice to be able to come on here and chat even if not Paul related, Im sure he would join in too if he could. Its nice to know there is some compassion left in this world we all live in now. We all seem to have a sad story to tell but its nice to be able to share your thoughts at times even if you dont know the person.
