Television entertainer Paul O'Grady should be in a mood to celebrate after selling his memoirs to publisher Transworld for a cool £1 million.
The 51 year old chat show host, who has killed off Lily Savage, the alter ego that made his name, certainly has a colourful tale to tell. His working life includes stints in an abattoir and as a brothel attendant, marriage to a Portugese lesbian and most recently, chat show rivalry with Richard and Judy. But Liverpool-born O'Grady might not be pleased if he knew the real reason for the publisher's enthusiasm for an early manuscript. Says my well-placed source:'Paul has had heart attacks and the publishers want him to finish the book and be around to promote it before he has another.
