I have been given approval to pass on some information about Paul’s condition. A personal friend of his rang this morning and I have pleasure in being able to quote the following.

Paul believed he was well enough to be released from hospital today (he’s bored already!) but the hospital are going to monitor him for one more day, so all being well he is now due home tomorrow.

Paul has received sack loads from well wishers but unfortunately, due to the seriousness of his condition over the weekend he was unable to fully appreciate them. Today, the hospital have allowed a sack to be taken to him and Paul wanted to pass on his thanks to all his fans for their caring thoughts. He is quite overwhelmed and it has really cheered him up.

One thing to be thankful for is the fact that he was in the country at the time of the attack as Paul was originally due to fly out to Transylvania over the weekend to film Most Haunted.

Hope the above helps to put everyone’s mind at rest.

Thanks for this. I couldn't stop worrying when I found out but I'm so glad it seems he's back to his old self. I was thinking it was so lucky that he was in the country and that someone was with him when it happened.

doubt it. he will just have to do another one in the series, if his heart is up to it.

Paul is continuing to do well and with all things considered he is coping quite well without the nicotine.
